Mr. Oizo’s “Lambs Anger” is leaking hard.
The female robot voice on opening track “Hun” sums up the album perfectly: “A collection of some recorded stuff. Some are good, some are bad. Some are just ok.”
The good stuff is really good (Uffie’s return to form on “Steroids;” the crunch of “Erreur Jean;” the cracked out disco-raver “Gay Dentists,” the mind-numbing “Postif”), and the bad is, well, pretty bad (a pointless remake of Rob Base’s “It Takes Two;” the downright annoying “Bruce Willis Is Dead”). Even in its low points, “Lambs Anger” could never be called “boring” - there’s a wild “I don’t give a fuck” vibe running throughout - some of it just feels a bit too frivolous.
