Mental Black Hole
August 9th, 2008At the beginning of Opening Ceremony’s 72 hour Olympic inspired retail marathon, the DJ played Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody?” to a bunch of drunks like my friends and me who arrived much too early for Hercules and Love Affair, but not too early to pre-game for Friday night.
After making the sign of the cross (†) and saying “R.I.P Aaliyah”, as I must do whenever her name or music is mentioned or played, we discussed the absurdity of the music video, with its motorcycles, secret hideouts, hawks, and giant projections of Eddie Murphy on mirrored walls.
So, on that topic of strange music videos with movie tie-ins, here is a much different video that will probably do a fair amount of harm to your mind. If you know of anything more damaging, post the link in the comments, please.

What the fuck… this is probably the least traumatic thing I have seen in my entire life. Aaliyah’s death was tragic, yes. Beethoven’s 2nd.. no, unless you are talking about the part where they show severed heads on a conveyor belt…
