Record Of The Week: TEMA5
June 6th, 2008
This is a well timed release. Coming at that Spring / Summer transition. Things are sunnier. Your limbs are completely shaken out from the previous months hibernation. Now it’s time to get out more, walk around, dance and increase your creative output. This is the soundtrack for pretty much all of it.
If I am counting correctly I believe this is Mario Pierro’s second album as Raiders Of The Lost ARP. Pierro and his Italian pals have been releasing a range of great neo-electro / disco on Nature Records over the past few years. When I caught wind of this LP, TEMA5, it meant having at least 3 times the usual goodness that comes on their 12″s.
The album does not disappoint at all over the course of its broadcast of subtle electro, space control room bleeps and snythy soul.
My favorite song is Crashing. It’s something for the hyper-modern runway girl to walk to.
