Lively Lykke Li
August 29th, 2008I finally was able to see Lykke Li live last night. I had been eager to hear and see more of her after connecting the dots from Robyn to Kleerup to Kleerup’s production on some of the new Lykke Li material.
This was also my first time going to the recently opened Le Poisson Rouge venue. I liked the circular set up around the stage. It reminded me of the Nirvana / Pearl Jam type of MTV Unplugged set up. I was watching from the sound booth though and unfortunately had part of a large pillar obstructing my view, but that was okay since I could still hear just fine. She performed, sang and magaphoned a healthy amount of her material with a lot of enthusiasm.
And yes she covered a Tribe tune for her encore which was fun. See her if you have the chance. She is visiting all the way from Stockholm after all.
